A Thrilling Opportunity for Adelaide Developers and Homebuyers: Playford Alive East

Adelaide’s north is set to become a hub of opportunity for developers and homebuyers as more than 1300 new homes are planned for construction over the next eight years. This ambitious urban renewal project at Playford Alive in Munno Para will transform over 70 hectares of land into a vibrant residential community, aiming to address the housing crisis while creating a destination for families looking to build their forever homes.

At least 30 per cent of the homes in this development, known as Playford Alive East, will be affordable, making it an exciting prospect for first-home buyers and those striving to enter the property market. Adelaide developers will also benefit from this surge in construction, with demand for modern, livable spaces at an all-time high.

A Collaborative Vision for Housing Affordability

The South Australian government’s decision to fast-track the project demonstrates its commitment to easing the housing supply shortage. Housing Minister Nick Champion highlighted the urgency, stating that “supply is our only way out of a housing crisis.” The development, which is set to release 240 allotments annually, will bring an additional 400 affordable homes to the area, conveniently located near the Munno Para Railway Station.

Complementing the residential expansion, the government is investing $25 million in local infrastructure, including $15 million in upgrades to Curtis Road. This improvement will support the growing community and provide safer and more accessible transport options. The state has also partnered with the federal government to commit $30 million to build a dual-lane roundabout at the Curtis and Heaslip roads intersection, a move that underscores the focus on community connectivity.

A Dream Location for Families

Bordered by Fradd Road, the Gawler Rail Line, and Curtis Road, Playford Alive East offers more than just homes. It’s a thoughtfully designed community that will feature commercial retail spaces, public parks, walkways, and a minimum 25 per cent tree canopy, ensuring it is as livable as it is affordable. These features will make it easier for families to settle in and enjoy the conveniences of modern living.

For young homebuyers like 19-year-old Daniel Borg, the project has already made homeownership a reality. Thanks to government incentives, Daniel secured land in an earlier stage of the Playford Alive development. He expressed how the area’s affordability and amenities made it the perfect choice, stating, “Getting your first house, it’s probably the biggest investment of your life, so having things that are convenient around you definitely makes that settling-in process easier.”

The Future of Playford Alive

Member for Light Tony Piccolo emphasised the benefits, noting that its proximity to public transport will ease family budgets and improve accessibility.

This is a moment of optimism for Adelaide’s north, where opportunities abound for developers, homebuyers, and the broader community. As the project progresses, Renown Lending remains committed to helping build homes that meet the needs of today’s families while shaping the communities of tomorrow.
